Fifix Europe ry's objective is to reduce the number of stray animals (dogs and cats) in different countries - but mainly focusing on Romania - by funding local sterilization campaigns done by skilled and reliable veterinarians and by raising awareness of abandoned pets and their treatment. As Fifix does not support adoptions, it is not a rescue organization in the "usual" sense. Fifix neither supports any particular stray animal shelter or rescue organization. Our main goal is to have a sustainable solution for the stray dog and cat problem. We also assist stray animal shelters and/or private persons with veterinary costs, food costs, shelter approvements or in emergency situations. |
Why Romania? In Eastern Europe, the life of stray dogs and cats has been indescribably hard for many centuries, if not millennia, but in the autumn of 2013 the situation deteriorated further in Romania. Continuous horror news of Romanian street cats and dogs. Cruelty that no animal lover can comprehend. A never-ending stream of new puppies, who are suffering the same way with their mothers - being kicked, beaten, run over, unloved, dying alone. Or thrown away like garbage to municipal death-shelters, injured, sick and starving...
